I have a LG LCD TV and the sound is awful.There is no outputs to use an external sound system,not even a headphone socket.Is it possible to get an output from the scart socket.Thanks

You should be able to, provided that the SCART socket has the full set of connections. See http://www.electronics2000.co.uk/pin-out/scart.php - you'll need pins 3 (left), 1 (right) and 4 (ground). You may be able to get a ready-made cable or adapter if you prefer, but check this is for audio output, not input, before you buy one.
