solution to audio problem

Post by robknight » Sun Jan 19, 2014 7:28 pm

Hi there,

I'm new around here, please be gentle! :-)

I am looking for a way to record a very short sound (about 3 seconds or so) and then to play this back with a button press. (each time the button is pressed, the sound should play once).

The quality of the playback is not particularly important.

The sound can be from a WAV or MP3 file, or can simply be played into a line-in input on a recording device. (Evan playing it into a microphone would be fine!)

The output doesn't need to be particularly loud, just a small 8 ohm speaker would be fine.

It can be either battery or transformer powered.

I have tried to use Velleman kit MK174, but after many hours of soldering it was just dead! The instructions leave a lot to be desired and the support is lacking. I have no idea how to trouble shoot it - so I figure an alternative solution is what I need, preferably, pre-built.

What would you us for this use-case?

Thanks,

Rob.
