Getting valve equipment repaired...

Hello all,

I have got a Wayne Kerr AF signal generator i am eager to get repaired, or even repair myself.

I am not really familiar with technology of this era, as it uses valves and even has paper capacitors inside of it. It initially worked, but was out of specification, so i measured the frequency control (paper/wax) caps by desoldering them and measuring them on a LCR meter. They all measred fine. When i put them back in the unit no longer worked and has since been subjected to replacement valves and re-inforcement of slightly dodgy connections.

It doesnt give any sort of stable output now and its latest problem is to burn out and pop the power valve so the top came off :(

Here is a link to the schematic

So...my question...

Does anybody know anyone in the UK...preferably closest to Horsham, West Sussex as possible who would be able to repair this kind of thing?

Alternatively, please let me know any tell tale signs of write off to look for.

Thanks

I'm afraid valve equipment isn't really my thing, but you could try asking on the radio bygones website. Radio Bygones is the sister magazine of Everyday Practical Electronics and they have an online forum at http://www.chatzones.co.uk/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi - someone there might be able to point you in the right direction.
