RS-Denmark 3 times more expensive then RS-UK, :(

Evening ladies and gents

Well,, sometimes life just sucks . I'm an self-learned amateur electro-hobbyist that live and work in Copenhagen, Denmark. Quite recently I started buying electronics from RS-Denmark. They have all I need but they are so expensive compared to RS-UK. Some items are as much as 300% cheaper in UK. I tried to register on RS-UK but was not able to since one must have a valid UK address to do so. That just ain't fair ..

Does anyone know of an discount electronic store that has as wide range as RS and perhaps even cheaper then RS-UK? ..perhaps a China based..

hmm not sure this will help you but often what i do i make contact with a Chinese company via one of the many trade supplies web site, for example:

http://www.goodscool.com/

just to name a few!

you'll normally have to wait a few days for them to get back to you then you have to explain what it is you're after. If you hint at being a comapny and that your need samples they are normally more than willing to supply you with these. Its normally much cheaper doing it this way but there are abvious drawbacks, like:

time delay
language barrier
marketing emails
cant browse through products like you can on RS

but if there is a specific item you're after then you're basically going to source rather than buying from someone like RS.

Yeah I knew bot alibaba and madeInChina but not http://www.goodscool.com/, tho those are usefull if you need a lot of one thing or if you are looking for something that is new to the market and yet not available in stores (like 1w 660nm led), but I'm looking for a general electronic store like RS .

Wow m8 rapidonline.com looks promising, I'm almost 100% that they ship to EU since they have an base in Poland as well..

..I always found farnell to be over-expensive, RS have an base in Copenhagen (where I live) such that I can buy things over the counter and avoid the shipping costs.

Last thing Killo. There's a US internet company just setting in Europe (UK will be 1 of their 1st markets) who for a small fee will provide a domestic shipping address for you to aggregate orders to before on-shipping to you wherever you are.

Hehe, I'm gonna be their first customer, I just hope that it wont cost me too much, I hope for first customer bonus , lol. I only buy food in local stores, everything else I buy on-line (80% from UK), so this is gonna save me some quid
