Model railway project
Model railway project
Hi
I am about to embark on a model railway project to enhance currently installed electronics.
I have 3 coaches with interior lighting (2x12v bulbs connected in paralell in each coach) The lighting is powered from pick-ups on the bottom of the coaches which basically scrape along the track and loose connection due to uneaven track/dirt and flicker. I would like to install an anti-flicker device in each coach.
I am thinking wiring in a capacitor and resister into each coach would achieve the desired effect, however, I need some help to choose the correct components.
The power supply to the track is 19v 0.5A and the bulbs are rated at 12v
Would someone be willing to help me with this one?

Re: Model railway project
How many watts are the bulbs?
Tar&stuff.

A rectifier, zener diode or voltage regulator, a diode and a couple of capacitors will probably do the job but we need to know the wattage of the lamps to say for sure.
