Can you help me find two-pin (not four pin) Tactile Switches

Post by Custom24 » Thu Jul 15, 2010 1:28 pm

Hi All
I have an old guitar effects pedal, the Zoom 8080, which I love.

However, some of the switches on the circuit board inside it need replacing.

I can't find anywhere that sells them in the UK (or anywhere at all for that matter) - any ideas? I live in Gloucestershire.

They are very similar to this, but they have only two pins, not four.

Thanks for any help
Mark

Are the pins in a different position than on the 4 pin ones? I'm just wondering if you could cut off 2 of the pins (each side of the switch has 2 pins connected together) - I seem to remember doing this for something in the past. Failing that have you tried Farnell (www.farnell.com) or RS (www.rswww.com)? They have a big range, only problem is they both have minimum orde values unless you are an account holder.

Hi and thanks for the reply.
The pins are centred on opposite sides rather than on the corners, so I can't cut them off. I did buy some 4 pin ones before from Maplin to see if that would work, but alas, no.

I'll try to remember to have a look in the Farnell catalogue at work for a 2 pin version - probably easier than trying to find one on their web site.
