Electromagnetic pendulum

Post by jpb1958 » Wed Apr 06, 2011 9:32 pm

Hi everyone
I need help with a project I am doing and I have come here.....hey, if you need answers, go to the best.

I am working on a wooden clock project that works by an electromagnetic pendulum as shown in this youtube video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JATRFEMiRZ4

Being a bit of a glutton for punishment I want to build the clock myself but not as a kit. I want to make the gears etc myself.

I have been in touch with the manufacturer of the clock and he will send me the electronic parts for £65 including.. board, battery holder, coil and magnet.

But I want to make a few clocks for my family..(they saw the video and would like one for themselves)

But making 5 clock would be too expensive.

And this is where my request comes in...

Once I pay for the electronics kit, how would I go about 'reverse engineering' it?

The kit isn't patented so I can copy it. But I know nothing about electronics!!

I am hoping that I could scan the board, post an image here and get some help?...
